On July 28th, 2017, a Brit and a Yank agreed to meet at The Crosby Bar in Soho, New York.
She only wanted to do drinks in case it didn’t go well, so she could make a quick exit. Both were early and arrived at the same time. He thought she was smoking hot. She thought he wasn’t as tall as he said he was.
Fast forward exactly 9 years and on July 28th, 2026, we’re getting married on the other side of the pond. This time it won’t just be drinks. Dinner will be served.
The 9 years between the two July 28th’s have been full of challenges and adventures…
We’ve moved 6 times between New York and Washington D.C.
We rode out the pandemic together - going on long runs through an eerily empty Manhattan
We’ve driven classic cars in Cuba and rode helicopters over Manhattan.
We climbed mountains in Arizona and swam Mexico’s Cenotes.
She perfected our favorite recipes. He mastered the cocktails.
We explored our favorite New York bars and Speakeasy’s, familiar London landmarks, and her home state of California.
We’ve been from East to West and back again - together. But our favorite memory is when he proposed in Greece – fluffing it the first time, he committed to proposing again on each island. He’d perfected it after two weeks. She said ‘yes’, every time.
And the rest is history
